Introduction
The Deosai Burge La & Shela Trek is one of the most captivating and easy-to-access treks in northern Pakistan, recently opened for foreign travelers. Nestled in the stunning landscapes of the Himalaya Range, this trail passes through Deosai National Park — often called the Land of Giants — and offers unmatched views of lush green pastures, crystal-clear rivers, colorful wildflowers, and remote high-altitude villages.
Unlike strenuous high-altitude expeditions, this is a gentle, nature-focused trek, perfect for families, first-time hikers, or anyone wishing to immerse themselves in the raw, untouched beauty of Gilgit-Baltistan. The trek allows you to see Burge La Pass (4,816m), Sadpara Lake, remote shepherd camps, and Shela Village, all while experiencing the local traditions of the Balti people.
