Duration: 45 Days | Region: Baltoro Glacier, Karakoram | Grade: Extreme Rock Climbing | Best Time: June – August
Organized by PakJourney – For the Passionate Climbers of the World
Overview
The Trango Towers are among the most iconic and challenging granite spires in the world, rising vertically above the Baltoro Glacier in Pakistan’s mighty Karakoram Range. These legendary towers draw elite rock climbers from the USA, Europe (especially Poland), and Japan, all aiming to ascend their breathtaking vertical walls.
The Great Trango Tower (6287m) is home to one of the world’s tallest vertical rock faces, with its East Face soaring 1600 meters from base to summit. First climbed in 1977 by an American team via the South Face, it remains one of the most coveted climbs in alpine history.
Equally mesmerizing is the Nameless Tower (6251m), a sharp granite needle first summited by a British team in the 1970s. It gained international fame in 1989 when Kurt Albert and Wolfgang Güllich established “Eternal Flame,” one of the most legendary high-altitude free-climbing routes in the world.
Trango Towers are part of a grand rock climbing sanctuary, surrounded by other dramatic peaks such as:
- Lupsand Tower
- Uli Biaho Tower
- Muztagh Tower
- Paiyu Peak
- Biange Tower
This expedition is for expert climbers seeking real vertical challenges in the wildest climbing theater on earth.
