Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Islamabad
Welcome to Pakistan! Our team will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Time permitting, a short sightseeing tour in the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi can be arranged.
Day 2: Fly to Skardu or Drive to Chilas
Weather permitting, enjoy a scenic flight to Skardu with aerial views of Nanga Parbat. If flights are canceled, we drive along the Karakoram Highway (KKH) to Chilas.
Day 3: Free Day in Skardu or Drive from Chilas to Skardu
In case of road travel, we continue towards Skardu. If already in Skardu, a free day allows for acclimatization and exploration of the local bazaar, Satpara Lake, or Shigar Fort.
Day 4: Drive to Askoli (7 hours)
We drive by jeep to the last village of the valley—Askoli, the gateway to Baltoro Glacier and the start of the trek.
Day 5: Trek to Jula (6-7 hours)
The first trekking day leads us through the Braldu River valley to our campsite at Jula. A scenic but hot trail.
Day 6: Trek to Paiju (6 hours)
Trek continues towards Paiju, offering the first full view of Cathedral Peaks and the Baltoro Glacier.
Day 7: Rest Day at Paiju
A crucial day for acclimatization and preparation before stepping onto the glacier. Porters prepare food rations and supplies.
Day 8: Trek to Khobursay (6 hours)
The route now shifts onto the glacier itself—an icy walk across the snout of Baltoro, with fantastic views all around.
Day 9: Trek to Urdokas (5-6 hours)
Surrounded by granite towers and snow walls, we arrive at Urdokas, one of the most beautiful campsites in the Karakoram.
Day 10: Trek to Goro-II (5 hours)
The walk gets colder and tougher, but we are now entering the icy heart of the Karakoram. Camp on the glacier.
Day 11: Trek to Concordia (4-5 hours)
Welcome to Concordia—the world-famous amphitheater of mountains. Surrounded by 8000ers, this is the crown jewel of the trek.
Day 12: Rest Day at Concordia (K2 Base Camp Visit)
A day to visit the K2 Base Camp (3-4 hours one way), explore around Broad Peak Base Camp, or rest at Concordia.
Day 13: Trek to Ali Camp (6 hours)
The route takes a turn toward Gondogoro La. Ali Camp is set below the pass—it’s an icy and dramatic landscape.
Day 14: Trek to Khuspang via Gondogoro La (8-10 hours)
A pre-dawn start to cross Gondogoro La (5850m)—the highlight of the trek. Roped sections and crampons required. Views of K2, Laila Peak, and Gasherbrums make the effort worthwhile.
Day 15: Trek to Shaischo (5-6 hours)
An easier walk through green meadows with the spire of Laila Peak standing tall in the background.
Day 16: Trek to Hushe (3-4 hours)
Final leg of the trek through lush fields and stone villages. End of the foot journey.
Day 17: Drive to Skardu (5-6 hours)
We drive back to Skardu, enjoying the comforts of a guesthouse and a proper meal.
Day 18: Fly to Islamabad or Drive to Chilas
Weather depending, a flight to Islamabad will be arranged. Alternatively, the road journey continues.
Day 19: Free Day or Drive to Islamabad
Free day in Islamabad or final leg of the road journey.
Day 20: Departure
